theories beliefs and evolution

i don’t know how much of what i write here is true, …………………………………………………….. ………….. these are theories, and theories of theories,…….

……..but surely belief is based on what you see, read, hear- ……………………..                                            what you feel, and what your instinct tells you

..and so, if people can believe in something that they haven’t experienced, ……………… .. . . … (like a god that was all harsh and condemning then           …………………. ……………       ….. …………………………suddenly turned all forgiving )……………………………….. ……………………..and ignore works atttributed to the same authors they believe in.   …………….. ..                                       (like the nag hammadi with the bible)

……then it is possible to believe- at least for now –………………………..         …..     …… ……….. that what i felt/feel and saw/see and read/hear as potentially true…

…i remember at a session of ‘drumlove’ at shrewsbury folk festival         …………………..…  a a guy explaining about drumming……………………………………………………………………………… ….how people from different areas have different rhythms…………………………………………… then, when the tribes come together- they learn each others rhythms…………………………… and then new rhythms are made….

……….wow! i think. evolution!

and how good it is to do this……………………. ……………………………………. …………………………………..to learn from others – near and far….. …….. .. ………. ……………..and from this learning, new music, ideas, theories and realisations making

……………if we are searching for universal truths. …………………………………..  .might as well look universal – innit?

that’s surely a problem with some religions etc? those that are stuck in its ways………. ……refusing to evolve.…………………….. ………………………………………………………… ………………….and expect you not to question or challenge in someway what they say…

surely ‘religious’ and ‘spiritual’ experiences are to share, to learn from , to question, to evolve,…………………………………………………………………………………. …………………… ………………….. …………being able to consider alternatives,…………………. ………………………………… ……………….and search for more possible truths, …………………………………….     and experiment and challenge theories again and again

if people are afraid to challenge their theories……………………………………………………………… ……………….. ……………….then what are they afraid of?

….if they are afraid that the theories won’t hold up to the challenge ………………………….. …………………………………………..then why believe a theory that may not be true?

if they are afraid that they may have to change their mind-………………………………………….. …………..what is there to fear about if you wish to evolve – to learn – to grow?

we find out the truth for sure some ‘time’ or other anyway…………………………. ……………      ……… …………..and before we know the truth for sure……………………………… …….til then we can believe or think that a theory is less or more likely to be true….. ……based on experiences, logic, instinct, discussion, and considering others points of view-and that’ll       …….. ……….do.me……………………………………………………………………………..           ……………………………………. .. ….for now… …………………………………………………………………………………….. .       .         ……(guess some of the fun is finding out anyhow)……………………………………………….. ……………. …………til then it feels good to keep learning this way……………………………………………………. ………….         . it may not be necessary to know all the truth now ……………………………………….. …………………………… but it still feels good to try find it
